Consulate of the People`s Republic of China in Laoag was officially opened on 11th April 2007. It is the second consular post of China in the Philippines after the Consulate General of the People`s Republic of China in Cebu was established. The consular district includes the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 1 and Region 2, totaling 15 provinces which cover an area of nearly 60 thousand square km.
China and the Philippines are neighboring countries with a strip of water, enjoying a long history in terms of people-to-people`s friendly exchanges. Especially in recent years, co-operations between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture and others have been continuously developed and deepened. People`s exchanges are increasing either. This Consulate will positively develop friendly relations, promote their economic & trade exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and friendship among local areas or other relevant parties of China and its consular districts. The Consulate will meantime provide high-quality consular services to Chinese citizens who travel or reside in its consular districts.
